Furniture painting / restoration

Over the years I have restored, painted up, rejuvenated, wallpapered, re-upholstered and improved loads of furniture items for my own home and for others. I like to apply an arts/crafts perspective wherever possible and hope you will enjoy my projects especially as seen on my Gallery/Projects page.

Every item I see I can re-imagine as something improved, colourful and wonderful for your own home. So don’t chuck anything out just because it isn’t quite right just yet!

My rate is £21.00 an hour within the borough of Luton on weekdays – this rate will also apply to the time required for me to pack up/unpack required tools, plus the cost of any materials used will be added to the charge.. Surcharges apply for any client’s residence beyond a 6 mile radius and/or 20 minute travelling time from my home, also for any required weekend work – please see my Terms, Conditions and Policies page for further details.

Singer sewing table repainted

A 1930’s wooden Singer sewing machine table, the wood was in a terrible state and the room needed an uplift of colour. Stripped, sanded, and re-painted has given it a new lease of life and cheered up the room.

Side table art deco style

An old table with a worn top so the wood was sanded, restored with various applications of wood restorer and beeswax, the top was sanded and then wallpapered, and the drawer handle painted up.

Bedside cabinet rejuvenated

An old Argos cheapy bedside table with a seriousy scratched top, but otherwise in working order. Sanded, re-painted, varnished, new knobs from eBay, wallpaper added to top and then a top layer of clear Fablon to make it waterproof. Plasterer’s metal edging added for an interesting finish.

Before - Little Black Table

This was a little black table that was being thrown out as it was too plain. I added simple mosaics to the top and the bottom shelf, added a lamp and then taped the lamp lead and switch behind one of the legs so it was not too visible but still easy to access the switch.
