Thank you for visiting my web site.

I am a one-woman operation providing Home Help/care provision. I have achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care. Many people who are elderly or vulnerable in other ways prefer to have a female working in their home. I am completely trustworthy and always listen closely to the needs and preferences of my clients. I work hard to find the best value for money solution to address any home related issues via D.I.Y. projects/repair/mobility aid fitting work, gardening, or sourcing/purchasing items required due to changing needs such as decreased cognitive function or mobility. I can also provide tailor made and colourful laminated posters and labels for people with various forms of Dementia in order to help them find the things they need, e.g. family/emergency contact numbers notices in large print, refuse bin/cupboard/drawer etc labelling, or anything else required.

I assist with organisation in the home, working closely in partnership with the client and, where applicable, their key family member or advocate. Many of my clients have also enjoyed a “family tree” project which I type up with initial information, filling in any gaps by liaising with other family members. This document becomes an essential reference point when having conversations about the person’s family and past; also I can use it to prompt important birthdays and anniversaries, assisting with card purchase/writing/posting as required. Arts and crafts therapy is also an option.

Creating a wonderful home and/or garden results in a lovely sanctuary for relaxation and enjoyment – a haven from all of life’s difficulties and stresses. When gardening for people who are elderly, disabled or recovering from an operation it is a team effort with a focus on inclusion - so the client instructs me as to what they wish to be undertaken each visit, and I am also able to allocate manageable tasks to undertake themselves whilst keeping a watchful eye and assisting in order to preserve health and safety. This helps people to retain ownership and control over their own life and environment.

Domestic help such as cleaning, laundry, gardening, light D.I.Y. and food management are components of the service I offer. I am also able to provide companionship and can take clients to medical appointments or for assisted food shopping, collect medical prescriptions, etc. Please see my Service pages for further details and rates of pay.

I provide a comprehensive Updates document for the key family member/Lasting Power of Attorney after each visit if requested, which includes all the positive achievements as well as any concerns and new issues. We then work together as a team to help address any arising problems as a result of physical or mental/cognitive changes over time.

Please note that although my hourly rate varies according to the services required, it is common to have a blend of services on each visit and I apportion out the time/fee accordingly. In this way I provide a truly personally tailored and flexible individual service for each person at an affordable cost.

In summary, I am capable of a wide variety of tasks and services but should anything of a practical nature fall outside of my scope then please see the footnote below. *

Footnote
*If you require something of a practical nature which is outside of my scope or time-frame then I am able to offer a range of alternative equally skilled individuals and contractors - whether that be for major gardening works, fencing, or large-scale interior redecoration. All of the people I would recommend for such jobs are well known to me, experienced, and qualified.
